Letter from Charles to Janna.

The text of the letter follows.

Oct.22-1943

Dear Janna Sue:

In ten years fron now you will old enough to know just what you would like to have better than I know what to get you now.

When you reach this age, I pray that these bands will be the only thing to make you even think about the hardships of war. At the present time this world is in quite a mess and fellows like your dad and your uncle are leaving their homes to make this world a nice place for you to live. A world in which all our homes will be normal again and all men will be permitted to live their own lives.

Here's wishing you the best through out life and reminding you to always be the kind of girl that your mother and father will have taught you to be.

Your uncle
Charles
